We were sold on today’s Zoe Beautiful feature, Tatcha’s Deep Rice Enzyme Powder, after totally delivering on its promises of leaving skin baby soft and radiant. After learning the history behind the brand’s methodology, however, we were left even more awestruck and felt inclined to share with all of you!
To develop the powder, Tatcha referred back to ancient Japanese culture to discover the secrets of geisha beauty. Renowned for their flawless, ageless skin, geishas unearthed the illuminating properties of rice bran to purify their visages to perfection hundreds of years ago. Uncovering these secrets in a 200-year old manuscript dating back to Japan’s Edo Period, Tatcha learned of three key ingredients in geishas’ beauty regimens—rice bran, red algae and green tea—which have since been applied to the brand’s entire collection of skincare products (we die for all of them, by the way). Replicating and refining these age-old methods, Tatcha has brought the seemingly unattainable to the masses with their highly evolved and well-researched skincare science. Mind blown? Ours too!
We asked our resident beauty guru, Joey Maalouf, how to use today’s Zoe Beautiful feature, the Vincent Longo Trio, three different ways—we heart versatility! Take a look at his expert tips below.
Look 1- Quick and Cool: Wet an eyeliner brush and use any color separately as eyeliner for a soft cat-eye effect.
Look 2- Eye-catching Evening: Mix two colors together using a puff shadow brush, cover your entire eyelid and smoke out the bottom. Use the darkest color on the corner of the lid and blend into the crease.
Look 3- Dramatic Effect: Take the brightest color and cover your eyelids from lash line to brow. Take the lightest color and dot the middle of your lid with your index finger and slightly rub it in.
For Dolce & Gabbana’s Fall/Winter 2012 RTW show at Milan Fashion week, Pat McGrath used the brand’s sumptuous beauty products to achieve a look to match the Sicilian Baroque vibe of the collection. Key ingredients to getting the face include The Creamy Foundation, The Smooth Eye Color Quad in Gold and Desert and The Classic Cream Lipstick in Petal and Mandorla, all by Dolce & Gabbana!
Pretty ponytails a la Donna Karan, Balmain and Derek Lam are a total Zoe Do—replicating the look is super simple!
