I would style this wooden piece as a nightstand (one on each side of the bed) with a chunky laminate lamp—something chic and understated that complements the piece while not competing with it. It should all be about the table.

Not to sound cliché, but I work in moments. The moment I envision when I look at this barrel chair is someone sitting in it, getting cozy with a patterned throw and reading a good book by light of a tall slender lamp with a posh white shade.
