Follow Friday—Blogger Crush of the Week:
Sonia from Runway Hippie
One part grunge glam, one part city slicker, equal parts fabulous—Sonia’s got the cool-girl vibe down to a science. With no one outfit too calculated, she’s got that enviable Kate Moss air—you know, the “throw it on and go” mentality that seems to come so naturally to the chosen ones blessed by the fashion gods. As her name implies, she’s a certifiable runway hippie—the perfect juxtaposition of couture and boho glam!
1. The Basics:
Sonia Evers, 26, New York, NY
2. 5 Items in your closet you couldn’t live without:
The items in my closet are really about what I’m currently feeling most confident in. For the past year I would say these five are the items I can’t get enough of:
—My William Rast leather jacket - I could sleep in this bad boy, the leather is like butter.
—My Acne Pistol boots - I have to buy a new pair every year because I wear them so much!
—My Proenza Schouler PS11 - there isn’t an outfit this bag doesn’t go with!
—Skinny black jeans - it’s an effort for me not to wear these everyday
—An overflowing amount of jewelry - I have a huge bureau FULL of jewelry. It’s my last stop when I’m getting dressed and there isn’t a day I don’t leave the house without piles of it on.
3. Currently coveting…
This took some serious narrowing down but these are the three items on my wish list: a mustard orange quilted Chanel bag, Chloé Susan Studded Ankle Boots, Stella McCartney’s resort 2013 collection.
4. 5 songs you’re streaming at the moment:
“How It Ended” - The Drums
“Slow” - Twin Shadow
“Heroes” - David Bowie
“Like A Friend” - Pulp
“Still Life” - The Horrors
5. Favorite item ever featured on THE ZOE Report:
The Rachel Zoe Jane Top Handle Flap Bag.

How maj is Theodora Richards in this video for Skaist-Taylor? Can’t think of anyone more perfect to model these boho-chic rocker looks.
One look at Skaist-Taylor’s debut fall collection and it’s no surprise why we’re smitten. Layered, textured, boho perfection—it’s got Team Zoe’s name written all over it! In an effort to rack the designers’ (Pamela Skaist-Levy and Gela Nash-Taylor) brains of all their cool-girl sartorial knowledge, we scored an extra-special Q&A with the ladies on fall fashion and more—read on & enjoy!
1. Now that August’s in full swing, what are your favorite summertime hotspots/warm-weather activities?
We are complete California girls, and have been sticking close to home working on the next collection to show in September.
2. What movies/places/pop culture references are you most inspired by (both for Skaist-Taylor and in your own personal style aesthetic)?
Intentionally there is not a single thought or inspiration behind the work. It’s a range of looks that we feel are inherently “California Eccentric”, a mantra we live and dress by. It’s Marrakesh romance teamed with Studio 54 decadence – a touch of the 60s and 70s – and colors from every era and universe. These elements are stitched together for a casually glamorous uniform.
3. Looking forward to next season, what pieces are on your must-have list for fall?
We are already wearing it all. Our draped, wool crepe Helena dress has been in heavy rotation, and we both love the Long Goodbye dress in chiffon. Our outerwear is amazing too – there is a silver wool band jacket, trimmed with gold braid and silver fur. Everything is dramatic, but easy to wear, can easily fold into an existing wardrobe. In our world you cannot be fully on glam without comfort.
