As a supplement to our ERES Nail Polish feature & love for all things lacquer, we also sat down with Prabal Gurung to talk about his collab with Sally Hansen for spring! We asked the designer turned polish purveyor a few Qs about the collection (how MAJ are these colors?)… enjoy!
1. You began your collaboration with Sally Hansen several seasons ago—how did that partnership come about?
They had reached out and we were of course thrilled at the idea of making custom polishes for our show. That was seasons ago now and we could not be happier with how the relationship has grown.
2. At Team Zoe, we’re obsessed with every hue of polish imaginable—how did you possibly narrow down your selection this spring to just three key colors?
It’s a more extensive process than most would think. Their team comes to the studio months in advance of the show and we have a dialogue regarding the colors of the seasons and knowing what will work with their new nail technologies. We always want to do something a little different and they’re always up for experimenting. The salon effects were also really successful for spring.
3. You’ve got us on the edge of our seats—can we expect more polish collections from you in future seasons?
I certainly hope so! The possibilities for different kinds of polishes and nail art seem more endless than ever.
Happy birthday to the visionary, the extraordinary, the downright lovely Prabal Gurung! All our love on your special day! xo Team Zoe
